Touching Tomorrow Today

Today was Committment Sunday and the groundbreaking ceremony at our church for our new building program, Touching Tomorrow Today. Our church has such a heart for children and their families in this community, and we've outgrown our current building. So the first phase is a new children's building. This building campaign has been a great opportunity not only for us to give, but also to teach our kids about stewardship. Grey understands about tithing (He divides his allowance into 3 envelopes, tithe, save, spend.), but now he can learn about giving an offering above the tithe. We wanted Grey to see that we prayed over what God would have us give and we told him that we made a monthly committment for the next 3 years. We also want him to understand that giving isn't about money, it's about the motive and the attitude of your heart. Sometimes it's a huge step of faith, but God is faithful to honor it. Grey and Holland with their Touching Tomorrow Today shovels.

Holland digs like a girl.
Though he had his eye on the bulldozer, Mac settles for a shovel.
